Working Yachts 86
A series of yachts have been
developed to meet a growing market of yachtsmen (and women)
looking for a capable, seaworthy, offshore cruising yacht
with exceptional fuel efficiency and stability, while
still offering all the luxury of a “superyacht”
interior. Ranging in size from 62 to 95 feet, these semi-production
hulls can be customized in style and interior layouts
to suit the most discerning owner.
This 86 foot sportfish style
yacht has been designed as a filming platform for the
Inside Sportfishing Show currently featured on the Fox
Sports Network and also on streaming video on the internet
(www.insidesportfishing.com). This yacht will spend the
majority of her time out on the oceans, exploring the
fishing potential of exotic locales on a two year shoot
documenting the journeys of famous author and fishing
legend Zane Grey.

Like
her sister ships, she features a bulbous bow and the Bray
fixed-active fin stabilization system for enhanced performance
in heavy seas as well as comfort at anchor. Her state-of-the-art
hull form gives optimum fuel efficiency and form stability
through 180 degrees of heel as well as exceptional seakeeping.
This also gives her a 5000 mile range at 10 knots, with
a comfortable top speed of 15 knots. Her 24’-6”
beam gives ample interior space for the two VIP staterooms
and two guest staterooms, along with crew space for four.
The spacious and well-equipped galley is ready to provide
a wonderful feast at the end of a busy day - as well as
any refreshments needed while under way. The main salon
looks out over a large lanai deck fitted with lounges
and a barbeque. Aft is a huge fishing cockpit fully equipped
with bait tanks, tackle center, removable fighting chair,
and of course freezer storage below for the catch of the
day. The bridge deck is geared up with all the necessary
electronics and computer systems expected on an ocean
going vessel. Aft of the command station is a separate
editing suite for the post-production of the day’s
filming as well as a separate crew cabin.

Built
in steel with a fiberglass superstructure, this hull is
built to exceed ABS requirements for offshore yachts. This
combination of materials provides the best features of both
- the strength and durability of steel and the style and
sleek form of fiberglass. Construction is well under way
at Bracewell Marine Group in Vancouver, BC, Canada, for
a mid 2005 launch.
